I am Michael Bishop, and provide a full range of accountancy and bookkeeping services for all client types, but with a particular emphasis on Yoga Teachers and other Therapists. I am a Certified Public Accountant and Member of the International Association of Bookkeepers and have a great affinity and personal interest in Yoga which is why I formed Yogi Accounts.
Based in sunny Devon and working from my fully equipped home-based office, I offer a full range of accountancy and bookkeeping services. I have over 35 years’ experience working as a qualified Accountant in my own right and I have been a practicing Yogi for 5 years. I truly understand the challenges of working for yourself and would welcome the opportunity of discussing how I can help you with the accounting and money side of your business.
My clients receive a very professional service at a very competitive fee. I am able to keep my fees down because I have low overheads – my office is based at home (fully equipped with all the latest technology and software), I don’t employ any staff (I am your point of contact and prepare your accounts and tax returns personally), I am not VAT Registered (saves 20% VAT being added to your fees), and I give Yoga teachers 20% discount on my standard accountancy charges (because of my personal involvement and belief with and in Yoga).
Having an accountant at a distance is no longer a problem and is in fact becoming the norm. With the internet, smart-phones with cameras and cheap software, it is so easy to communicate and send documents and information these days, and I am always at the end of emails or the telephone for advice and support. For larger items we still have the good old Royal Mail.
Generally, Yoga teachers are not renowned for their bookkeeping and accounting prowess, and why should they be, when their main focus is helping others to improve their health and wellbeing. I offer a practical, user friendly service for those of you that do not have the time, expertise or inclination to get involved in accounts and taxation. I can give unlimited advice and assistance, depending on what you personally want and need – as little or as much help as you feel you need. To gain some idea of the costs of the varying services, look at our fees page, but when I have details of your personal requirements, I will give you a precise guaranteed fee quotation to ensure there are no surprise bills.
On a slightly personal level, one of the main reasons for setting up this service (apart from the wish to gain clients), is because I started doing Yoga quite late in life and have been practicing two to three days a week for the last five years and it has transformed my health, life and outlook beyond all recognition. I am so enthused that I am taking a minor distance learning Yoga teachers’ qualification for my own benefit and to help others, and I want to be as useful as I can to those imparting their knowledge and expertise in teaching Yoga, by offering a no-nonsense, hand-on specialist accountancy support network to the Yoga Professionals.
